It all began in a modest way—my mom and I running a little Instagram-based online store, crafting beautiful diaper cakes for baby showers and naming ceremonies. From the very start, our passion was to create moments of delight and surprise for families celebrating life’s sweetest milestones. We poured our hearts into designing each diaper cake, decorating them with ribbons, plush toys, and decorative touches that turned ordinary gifts into unforgettable keepsakes. But as much as I loved working alongside my mom, I was also in the throes of preparing for my high school exams. Balancing schoolwork and running the store proved challenging, and reluctantly, I put the business on pause to focus on my studies.
After those exams were behind me, I found myself drawn to another creative outlet: drawing. What started as doodling in my free time quickly turned into something bigger. I launched my first YouTube channel, where I shared short-form videos—YouTube Shorts—about art techniques, cover page designs, and motivational quotes. Week after week I uploaded new content, experimenting with different styles and themes. Before long, my videos began attracting attention: a few hundred views at first, and then up to two thousand. I felt a rush of excitement—this was me exploring my hidden talents, discovering that creativity could be more than just a hobby. It was a bridge connecting me to people all over the world.
One afternoon, as I was brainstorming new content ideas, a thought struck me: why not breathe new life into our family’s online store? But this time, with a fresh, contemporary twist. I noticed how everyone around me had a smartphone in hand, and it dawned on me that decoden phone covers were everywhere—but there was room for something truly special. I shared this idea with my mom—who, mind you, is the most creative person I know—and together we began to gather inspiration. We scoured the internet for design ideas and shared mockups of phone covers, eager to gauge people’s reactions. To our delight, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Fueled by that encouragement, we dove headfirst into building our revamped brand My Pastel Parade. We dedicated ourselves to sourcing high-quality materials—sturdy shells, durable glues, and handpicked embellishments—that would serve as the canvas for our designs. Every phone cover we created was a labor of love. We took meticulous care in each step of the process, from sketching and decorating to adding the finishing details. We wanted our customers to feel, the moment they held one of our covers, that they were getting not just protection for their device, but a piece of art they could carry with them every day.
Our efforts didn’t go unnoticed. As orders began rolling in, customers took the time to share heartfelt feedback, praising the craftsmanship, the attention to detail, and the vibrant colors that set our covers apart. Those reviews became our driving force, the fuel that kept us motivated during long nights of painting and packaging. I would be remiss not to acknowledge how much I owe to my mom. Her creativity, her unwavering dedication, and her passion for design have been the backbone of this journey. I am truly blessed to be her daughter and business partner, and together we will continue to make our customers’ dreams come true—one phone cover at a time.
